Valor Winter Checklist

Valor has sent out a great bulletin when it comes to preparing your fireplace for winter!

With any fuel burning fireplace or space heating device, safe operation depends on your product knowledge and awareness of safe operating practices. Special precautions are necessary when small children are present. Please take the time to review all safety procedures with your family and guests.

Maintain Your Fireplace.

Your owner’s manual includes instructions on routine maintenance such as glass cleaning and replacement of batteries in your remote receiver and handset. Scheduling a regular maintenance check with your dealer helps to ensure safe and efficient use as well as maximizing the service life of your fireplace.

Please Read Your Owners Manual

and follow all instructions and warnings. Ensure that all fireplace users are aware of all features of the control system. Replacement manuals may be ordered through your dealer, or by visiting valorfireplaces.com and clicking the ‘downloads’ link. Your fireplace model number is located on the manufacturer’s plate near the control valve.

Fireplace Surfaces,

in particular the glass viewing window, are extremely hot during operation (over 500°F at full capacity) and will remain hot for a period of time after the fireplace is turned off. Contact with the hot glass can cause severe burns. Close adult supervision is required if there are young children, or at-risk individuals in the house. A physical barrier is strongly recommended. Install an approved aftermarket safety gate to keep toddlers, young children and at-risk individuals a safe distance from the fireplace. For more information please visit valorfireplaces.com/safety.

No Power, No Problem.

Valor Gas Fireplaces are fully functional heaters that don’t require electricity (AC) for steady, efficient operation - providing reliable warmth, even during a power failure.

Overheating Empty Rooms Just Doesn’t Make Sense.

Heating your entire home with a central forced air system is often inefficient. Constantly pumping heat through unoccupied rooms wastes valuable energy. With your Valor, you distribute steady, even heat directly where you want it - when you want it. Studies have shown that effective zone heating can save you up to 30% on home heating costs. Turn down your furnace and heat wisely with your Valor.

Valor Fireplaces are Known for Producing Radiant Heat.

Satisfying human comfort with up to 25% less energy than warm air systems, radiant heat replaces the chill lost to cold windows and walls. Reduce your energy bill and increase your home comfort with Valor radiant heat.

Valor Fireplace Screen Accessories.

If your Valor fireplace is not equipped with a fire screen or screen door, a suitable accessory screen may be ordered through your local Valor dealer. To find a Valor dealer please visit valorfireplaces.com/contact.

Maintain a Safe Clearance From Hot Surfaces.

Keep furniture, draperies and other objects at least 36” clear from the front of the fireplace. Never sit directly adjacent to the hot glass, or allow clothing or other material to come in contact with fireplace surfaces.

Keep the Remote Control Handset out of Reach of Children at all Times.

A wall mount storage holster was included with your remote control package. Removing the battery from the handset or receiver will disable your remote.
